Real Pet Food (RPF) is home to some of Australia’s most loved pet nutrition brands — and our Private Label portfolio is integral part of our business. We’re looking for a commercially sharp and customer-focused National Account Manager (Private Label) to lead key retail partnerships, deliver exceptional execution, and unlock new growth opportunities across our PL ranges.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Coles, Independent Grocery & Private Label, you will be the primary customer contact for all Private Label programs across the trade. You’ll partner closely with major retailers to ensure consistent delivery of their agreed PL ranges, while driving new propositions that strengthen joint business outcomes.

This is a customer-facing role, working cross-functionally with Category, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and R&D to deliver winning product solutions, strong commercial performance and seamless project execution. Every day, you’ll bring our RPF values to life — Work as a Pack, Make Your Mark, Lead with Passion and Change the Game.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail customers, understanding their PL strategy and delivering to their expectations.
  • Manage end-to-end tender processes for both new and existing contracts
  • Partner with retailers on NPD that meets their needs and reflects category insights
  • Collaborate with RPF teams to develop customer propositions on time and within the required financial framework
  • Own the commercial P&L and Customer Contribution Statement for your portfolio, ensuring profitability and margin optimisation
  • Drive PL growth through category-led insight generation and opportunity identification
  • Analyse customer sales and scan data to track monthly performance, ROI and forecast accuracy
  • Liaise with Supply Chain to deliver solid DIF results and support clear communication during supply challenges
  • Manage customer-specific queries efficiently and professionally.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a similar role within FMCG, ideally in Account Executive, Account Manager, Assistant Category Manager or Project Management roles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment - you are known for being calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with strong influencing and negotiation capability
  • Proven problem-solving skills and sound judgement - you see solutions not problems
  • Strong time management, planning and project management capability
  • Financial acumen with a solid understanding of forecasting, budgets and monthly sales performance
  • Commercial understanding of product manufacturing, category trends and operations
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
  • Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, and/or formal negotiation training (Sentinel/GAP preferred).
