We're the leading cloud-native location intelligence platform, enabling data professionals to provide geospatial insights straight from modern, cloud data warehouses. With the development of our new AI capabilities, we're making spatial analysis even more accessible, allowing users to have conversational interactions with their data on maps.
Our Solutions Engineers are technical and creative and enjoy solving new and complex problems. This is a key position for a growing territory.
The position is fully remote and ideally based in one of the following countries: Malaysia, Philippines, or Indonesia.
What You'll Do
As a Solutions Engineer, you won't just be demonstrating features; you'll be a true partner, guiding prospects and clients to understand their core challenges and strategic goals. Following the Great Demo framework, you will:
- Work closely with our Sales team, helping them to not only understand what a customer wants to achieve, but more importantly, to uncover the underlying "why."
- Build a vision for a solution that truly solves a business problem, enabling the team, and organizing internal resources to deliver a winning proposal.
- Communicate effectively in both technical and business discussions, with audiences ranging from technology users to executive-level decision-makers.
- Transform requirements into a functional scope and economic proposal for our SaaS platform and professional services, always keeping the client's strategic "why" in mind.
- Develop proofs of concept and small applications using the CARTO platform, showcasing the unique value proposition and competitive differentiators, including our cutting-edge AI capabilities.
- Position CARTO's value proposition and competitive differentiators in competitive procurement processes, demonstrating how our platform, including our new AI-powered tools, helps clients achieve their goals.
- Engage in business development efforts to help grow the territory.
What You'll Bring
- Communication Skills: You're a great communicator who can clearly articulate complex ideas and actively listen to uncover a client's deepest needs.
- Passion & Curiosity: You are passionate about technology, including the latest advancements in AI, but also eager to learn how that technology can be applied to solve business problems.
- Geospatial Expertise: You have 3 or more years of expertise in GIS consultancy using a mix of geospatial technology and tools.
- Cloud Knowledge: Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of major cloud platforms, particularly data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake and Databricks.
- Development Skills: Experience working on solution-oriented applications using a wide range of technologies such as Python, Javascript, PostGIS, SQL, and APIs.
- Collaborative Spirit: A collaborative work style that can thrive in a flexible, fluid operating environment with autonomy.
- Optimistic & Eager: Most of all, you are optimistic, data-driven, smart, and eager to learn.
