RWDI’s team of meteorologists and engineers understand weather and can help guide plans and designs by evaluating short/long-range conditions to minimize negative impacts in operations before they occur. Join our team!
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our Weather Forecasting team as an Operational Meteorologist. This is a call-in, part time position.
The role includes:
- Creating and distributing weather forecasts to clients.
- Evaluating current operational weather forecast model performance.
- Monitoring and assessing observational data (meteorological towers, radar, satellite)
- Making updates to weather forecasts as necessary.
- Providing scheduled and impromptu phone weather briefings with clients.
- Monitoring weather situations and providing alert services for certain clients.
- Basic trouble-shooting and problem reporting of computer systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following minimum qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree/diploma in atmospheric sciences/meteorology.
- Background in mountain weather analysis (orographic meteorology).
- Willingness/ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to meet daily deadlines, make decisions, and work independently.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to make proactive decisions and adjust priorities while under pressure.

Salary range:
$50 - $65/ hour CAD
$36 - $47/ hour USD
