Job Overview

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a critical role in developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, product flow, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the processes. This position requires strong analytical ability, hands-on problem solving, and experience applying continuous improvement tools in a job shop manufacturing environment, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and lean principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Support the manufacture and process improvement of the new urethane molding line at the Sheboygan plant.
• Identify and improve manufacturing methods related to assembly layouts, material flow, material yield, efficiency, safety, and cost.
• Provide guidance to engineering leadership regarding design concepts and specification requirements to optimize equipment utilization and process routings.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Monitor and report process performance through KPIs and statistical process control (SPC).
• Ensure all processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Train operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Process Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role (entry-level candidates with strong internships/projects will be considered).
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and project management skills.
• Hands-on experience with process validation, time studies, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) preferred.
• Familiarity with material flow, inventory management, material handling, equipment layout, bottleneck identification, and workstation readiness.
