Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities 

The Design Director is responsible for leading creative vision and design execution across projects, ensuring strategic alignment, visual excellence and brand consistency. This role combines high-level conceptual thinking with hands-on design leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver powerful and inspiring visual experiences. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Execution: Lead a project from start to finish, use initiative and work autonomously ensuring work aligns with strategic thinking that creates outcomes relevant for the brief, audience and client.  
  • Creative Thinking: Take a lead in the development and prototyping of brand identity concepts, campaigns and other mediums.  
  • Client Management: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative internal and external working relationships and work alongside clients to deliver innovative design solutions.  
  • Leadership: Actively foster strong relationships with clients and cross-functional teams while taking a pastoral role to develop more junior team members. 
  • On-trend: Stay up to date with latest trends and experiment with new approaches. 

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Key Requirements 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a design or art direction role working with global brands. 
  • Proven ability to manage complex creative projects from concept to completion. 
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand identity, campaign and digital design work. 
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise 
  • Design Skills: Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma). Experience in Art Direction, Motion and 3D are desirable.  
  • Project Management: Strong organisational skills and ability to manage, plan and deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines with demonstrable budget setting and management skills.  
  • Attention to Detail: A passion for design and craft, with strong knowledge of typography and brand expression.  
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and effective communication with clients, and internal teams. Liaise with Clients and where appropriate, lead in pitches and presentations. Liaise with suppliers, where appropriate, for the specification and production management of print materials etc.  
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in a design role working with global brands.  
  • Attitude: You are a team player, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn from others within your team.
