Newly Barred Intake Attorney (Employment Law) (Bilingual Spanish)
Full-time Mid-Senior LevelJob Overview
Newly Barred Intake Attorney (Employment Law) (Bilingual Spanish)
Why This Role Is Different
This is not your typical behind-the-scenes legal role. As the first attorney a prospective client speaks with, you’ll be making high-stakes, high-impact decisions right from the start. This position blends legal expertise, strategic assessment, and client engagement — all in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You’ll help people understand their rights, determine if they have a viable case, and guide them toward representation.
In addition to handling consultations, you’ll also represent the firm at large events with the team — speaking directly with clients, answering their questions, and building trust in person. This unique mix of intake, advocacy, and outreach makes the role both dynamic and highly impactful.
What You’ll Do
- Handle inbound consultations with prospective clients (no cold calling required).
- Listen carefully and evaluate potential claims across a wide spectrum of California employment law (wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, etc.).
- Educate callers about the legal process and articulate the value of our representation.
- Build trust quickly and effectively to convert consultations into retained clients.
- Collaborate with intake specialists and attorneys to ensure smooth case onboarding.
- Accurately document case information and communication notes in our CRM system.
- Stay current on evolving employment law topics and internal case strategies.
- Attend and participate in large events with the team to meet clients face-to-face, answer questions, and provide legal insights that strengthen client relationships.
What You Bring
- J.D. from an accredited law school and an active California Bar license.
- Bilingua; Spanish preferred
- Preferred 2 years of experience in employment law, litigation, or direct client advisory roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — confident, clear, and compassionate.
- Strong ability to convey legal information and inspire trust with potential clients.
- A genuine desire to help people, especially those facing workplace injustice.
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented with a team-first attitude.
- Open to training newly barred associates.
What You Get
- Competitive base salary: $85,000 – $100,000
- Discretionary performance bonuses
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- Career advancement opportunities in a purpose-driven law firm
- A culture rooted in advocacy, integrity, and excellence
