With the ongoing expansion of the infrastructure programme, we are looking for a Project Engineer to be part of our team handling Project Development, Interface Management, and Construction Logistics.

About the role:

The Project Engineer supports the Project Development Managers, the Senior Interface Managers and the Construction Logistics Senior Manager in their day-to-day activities.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Monitoring daily site activities
  • Overseeing and coordinating the work of contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Assisting in Permit to Work applications.
  • Coordinating interfaces between contractors, operations and stakeholders as required.
  • Updating and maintaining interface, risk and opportunity registers.
  • Assisting with project development tasks, such as preliminary designs, cost estimates, and construction methods, to support new business cases.
  • Contributing to the ongoing monitoring and management of safety, health, wellbeing, and environmental matters with the AKL HSW and Environmental teams.
  • Contributing to the reporting of progress, achievements, and key risks and opportunities.
  • Demonstrating Auckland Airport’s commitment to a “people first” approach in health, safety, and wellbeing.

What you’ll bring to the role:

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in site-based construction roles.
  • Varied project experience within vertical and horizontal construction.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence, combined with the ability to build strong networks with key stakeholders.
  • Proactive in finding and implementing practical solutions to technical problems.
