Job Overview

Avant Tech is searching for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Title & Survey Associate Attorney to join our clients' prestigious legal team. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity of property transactions by conducting thorough title examinations and survey analyses to identify issues that may affect property ownership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising clients on title and survey matters, resolving any disputes, and ensuring that transactions comply with all legal requirements and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed title examinations, including review of title commitments, surveys, and closing documents.
  • Identify and resolve title defects, issues, and encumbrances before transaction completion.
  • Prepare title opinions and abstracts to support real estate transactions.
  • Assist clients with understanding title insurance policies and their implications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to manage due diligence
    • real estate professionals, surveyors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to title and survey issues.
  • Provide legal guidance and recommendations to clients on title-related matters.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 6+ years of experience in real estate law, specifically in title examinations and surveys.
  • Active membership of the New York State Bar or eligible for admission, in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of title insurance, surveying principles, and real estate transactions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents and opinions related to title and real estate issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits

Salary Range: $295,000 – $400,000 (based on experience)
