Production Manager

The purpose of this role is to work with the Managing Director, Managers and other functions as a team to ensure the efficient and productive manufacturing process of the company’s products that meets customer requirements. To take responsibility of the company’s high-end and luxurious quality standard. You are ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all the company’s furniture production lines and the high quality of output to the standard of the company. To be accountable for the company’s production process from start to finish, manufacturing problems as they arise and troubleshooting design. You are accountable for all machinery and tools’ inventory and maintenance. Developing and implementing manufacturing and productivity improvement plans. To create strategy, drive implementation, monitor compliance and write effective progress reports for suitable decision making.

Job Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

• Ability to develop a detailed furniture and fittings production plan, coordinate production process, supervise available resources and be able to deliver on pre-agreed terms, delivery timeframes, budget, quality and scope.

• Manage the production facility and production process. Ensure production process runs smoothly, safely, clearly and meets production budget and goals.

• Responsible for managing the furniture production, ensuring that all orders are executed to Clients’ requirement.

• Prepare cutting list from drawing and designs sent from the design architect for production. 

• Oversee and work with Quality Control to establish and execute quality control processes.

. Knows how to use CNC machine and its programs.

.MUST know how to use production machines and hand tools.

• Oversee the production process that includes cutting to measurements, edge taping, plaining of boards, designing a finishing, drawing up production schedule and setting targets for carpenters, floor hands, machinists and quality assistants.

• Ensure that production is cost effective.

• Estimate costs and set quality standards.

• Monitor our products standards and implement quality control programmes.

• Work with management to implement the company’s policies and goals.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications  

• A Degree, Msc, in Architecture, Engineering or Wood Technology.

• Minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant work experience in a high-end furniture manufacturing company.

Experience in  Furniture factory is MANDATORY!

Certification in Furniture Production

Is an added advantage.
