With our so called 'Blue Heart' inside, heat pumps turn into affordable, silent and flexible devices, capable of working with wide temperature ranges suitable for both new and existing houses. Importantly, BlueHeart doesn’t require any refrigerants and doesn’t generate any CO2e emissions.

About the Role

The Head of Commercial and Business Development leads all commercial activities at BlueHeart Energy, shaping and executing the company’s commercial strategy and building the foundation for long-term growth.
As part of the Management Team, you will drive market adoption, establish strategic partnerships, build and scale the commercial organisation, and ensure our technology becomes a core solution across residential and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities & Strategic Focus

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Build, lead and scale the commercial organisation, including sales, business development, partnerships and commercial operations.
  • Develop a high-quality commercial pipeline and drive conversion across key applications and geographies.
  • Identify, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs and key industry stakeholders.
  • Design and implement go-to-market strategies, including segmentation, pricing, positioning and application roll-out.
  • Ensure strong product-market alignment by translating market insights into commercial opportunities and collaborating closely with Application Management and Product teams.
  • Establish commercial operations infrastructure (CRM, forecasting, pipeline reporting, governance frameworks).
  • Work with Marketing to strengthen brand presence, market positioning and demand generation.
  • Monitor market and competitive developments to inform strategic decisions and identify regulatory or subsidy opportunities.
  • Support fundraising and investor relations with commercial insights, GTM plans, metrics and forecasts.
  • Oversee customer success, onboarding and long-term relationship development.
  • Provide regular commercial reporting to the Management Board, highlighting progress, risks and opportunities.
  • Delegate effectively, set clear expectations, and build resilience, ownership and accountability across the team.

What You Bring

  • 10–15+ years of commercial leadership experience in new disruptive technologies in slow changing existing markets (HVAC/heat-pump, energy transition, industrial equipment, hardware) ideally in clean-tech or deep-tech environments
  • Proven experience building and scaling commercial functions in high-growth companies.
  • Strong background in OEM business models, partner sales and international markets.
    Expertise in value-led selling, pricing strategy, commercial negotiation and business case development.
  • Strategic and hands-on mindset with strong operational execution capability.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work with senior stakeholders, partners and customers.
  • Analytical and data-driven, able to translate market insights into commercial decisions.
  • Passion for sustainability and alignment with BlueHeart Energy’s mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering; MBA is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Ability to delegate effectively, coach teams, and foster ownership and resilience.
