Health & Safety Advisor - 6 month fixed term contract

One of our wonderful kaimahi (employees) is heading off for 6 months to do the best job in the world - be a parent, so we are on the hunt for a fixed term Health and Safety Advisor to join the tīma (team) and continue the great mahi that is already well under way. At Contact, we believe safety is more than a checklist—it’s about people, relationships, and making sure everyone gets home safe, healthy, and happy every day. 

You’ll be the bridge between how work is imagined and how it’s actually done. Your days will be spent where the action happens—listening, learning, and supporting our people to do their best work safely. Here’s a few things we think will help you get more of a feel for the role: 

• Exploring Everyday Work: Get curious at the work fronts, understanding what helps teams succeed and what gets in their way. 
• Supporting Work Practices: Cooperate with front-line teams to create safe, dependable ways of working. 
• Predicting and Preventing Risks: Work with teams to identify future challenges and areas of uncertainty. 
• Facilitating Learning: Help individuals, teams, and the wider system learn from both everyday work and unexpected events. 
• Championing Process Safety: Encourage a questioning attitude about what could go wrong and how we can prevent it. 
• Ensuring Compliance: Support alignment with Contact’s H&S policies and management systems and help teams meet legislative requirements.
