About the role


The part-time Bilingual Paraprofessional will play a vital role in supporting the Legal Affairs and CovWorks Departments by assisting with various administrative tasks while engaging directly with youth. This position requires someone who can provide meaningful support by conducting confidential interviews and screenings, maintaining organized filing systems, and managing documents, electronic files, and mail. A component of this role will involve translating documents and facilitating communication in Spanish or French to ensure accessibility and understanding for all youth. The paraprofessional will also assist with coordinating appointments, following up on documents, and managing updates related to hearings and other youth-related matters. Additional responsibilities include contacting outside agencies working with various computer systems and software, as directed by departmental leadership. This position is ideal for an organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about positively impacting young people's lives.


What you'll do

  • Assist with youth confidential interviews and screenings.
  • Assist with following up with youth and other participants concerning appointments, documents, and hearing updates.
  • Assist with maintaining departments’ in-house online filing systems.
  • Assist with managing documents, electronic files, and mail.
  • Assist with contacting outside agencies and other third-party organizations.
  • Work with different computer systems and software.
  • Attend workshops and trainings as needed/requested by Directors.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Legal Services and CovWorks Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred or in process)
  • Bilingual in English and either Spanish or French (business-level proficiency)
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact and work with youth and coworkers.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with youth preferred.
  • Prompt, responsible, caring, and organized.
