About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Consultant for a temporary two-month contract to support the implementation and configuration of payroll processes in Costa Rica. This role will ensure accurate payroll setup, compliance with local regulations, and seamless integration with our global payroll partner, Deel.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert in payroll operations who has led implementations, understands accounting integrations, and can confidently navigate complex reporting requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and validate all payroll and compliance requirements for Costa Rica.
  • Collaborate with Deel to configure pay codes and ensure correct system setup.
  • Define and document General Ledger (GL) mapping for payroll transactions.
  • Develop and validate accounting and HR reports to ensure accurate data integration.
  • Establish processes for HR-related invoices, including vendor benefit payments.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for the entire payroll process in Costa Rica.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in payroll operations, including system implementation and configuration.
  • Fluent in English
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of payroll systems, GL mapping, and reporting development.
  • Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Costa Rican payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with global payroll platforms (especially Deel) preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and bilingual communication (English/Spanish).
