You design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure and pipelines, ensuring the platform operates with strong reliability, observability, and security standards. You drive the technical

- Your work enables analytics, machine learning, agentic AI, and embedded customer-facing data products. You operate independently, solve complex problems with structure, and elevate the
- Data Engineering discipline through high technical standards and strong collaboration with the wider engineering organisation.
What you'll be doing:
- Build, operate, and optimise data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns using technologies such as EventBridge, Firehose, Kinesis, or Kafka.
- Design and maintain cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS, including ingestion, processing, orchestration, and storage layers.
- Develop containerised data services and workflows using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and enforce consistent, reliable environments.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform reliability, data quality, and fast incident resolution.
- Drive architectural improvements, reduce technical debt, and introduce better tooling, standards, and practices.
- Collaborate with software engineering, analytics, product, and compliance teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Mentor engineers, review designs, and contribute to the maturity and excellence of the Data Engineering function.
What you'll bring
- Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS preferred), especially services relevant to data ingestion, processing, orchestration, and storage.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a track record of building reliable, production-grade data pipelines and services.
- Deep experience with event streaming and event-driven architectures using technologies such as EventBridge, Firehose, Kinesis, or Kafka.
- Practical experience building, deploying, and operating containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and modern CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitLab CI).
- Ability to independently lead technical initiatives, make architectural decisions, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Effective communication skills for working with engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring others, improving engineering practices, and contributing to a high-quality data platform and team culture.
