About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Accounting Manager to lead our general accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success managing teams, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP in complex, fast-paced environments. This role requires advanced Excel skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while delivering accurate, timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage external audit processes, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Use advanced Excel functions to analyze data, generate reports, and optimize workflows.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Accounting on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (advanced proficiency required).
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred industry experience: Senior Housing, Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with Yardi accounting software
