We are looking for a highly skilled Database Administrator with strong expertise in Azure infrastructure and SQL/NoSQL databases. You will join a fast-paced, dynamic environment within FusionHit, working with our client in the financial sector. This is a chance to design, build, and maintain cloud-native database solutions that power mission-critical applications.

This project centers on creating a new internal application to streamline operations, optimize data flows, and enhance user experiences.
Project: Part-time opportunity - up to 20/h a week as freelancer under independent contractor agreement
Location: Must reside and have work authorization in Latin America.
Availability: Must be available to work with significant overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 6+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, cloud solutions, and database systems.
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services including Azure Virtual Machines, AKS, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.
- Strong database expertise—especially in Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, or MongoDB, with experience in performance tuning and high availability.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, networking, and identity management using Azure Active Directory (AAD).
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment processes.
- Proven track record in migrating systems from on-premise to Azure environments.
- Excellent English communication skills (C1 preferred; strong B2 considered).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure-based database and infrastructure solutions that align with performance, security, and reliability goals.
- Manage and optimize databases (Azure SQL / Cosmos DB / MongoDB) for scalability, availability, and performance.
- Work with application and operations teams to ensure infrastructure supports development, testing, and production needs.
- Implement infrastructure automation and configuration management through IaC tools.
- Lead or assist in migrating legacy databases and systems to Azure cloud.
- Enforce best practices for security, cost efficiency, and compliance in the cloud environment.
- Continuously research and adopt emerging Azure and database technologies to improve architecture.
