About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a rapidly growing company in the food and lifestyle industry. The Controller will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, while helping drive process improvements and operational efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including GL management, AR/AP, payroll, and inventory accounting.
Oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Partner with FP&A to provide insights into performance trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
Manage cash flow forecasting, bank relationships, and credit facilities.
Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support growth and scalability.
Oversee tax filings, audits, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Mentor and develop a small accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Supply Chain to align financial strategy with business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Prior experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or consumer goods industry is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with accounting systems (NetSuite experience is a plus).
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
