As an Emergency Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing timely and compassionate care. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where quick thinking, excellent communication skills, and a passion for emergency and critical care are essential.
You'll join a friendly, experienced Emergency team in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality emergency and critical care services to our community's beloved pets!
Responsibilities:
- Permanent Full-time role - ideal start date 5th December 2025
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments
- Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed
- Perform diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasounds
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan
- Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic towards both animals and their owners
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
