About Haus

Haus is a first-of-its-kind marketing decision science platform built for the new digital privacy era, where data sharing and PII are restricted. Using frontier causal inference-based econometric models to run experiments, we help brands measure the business impact of marketing, pricing, and promotions with scientific precision. Over $360B is spent annually on paid advertising in the US alone, and the famous quote “half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half” still rings true. Haus helps marketers identify which half, and reallocate it to maximize growth.

With a founding team of former product managers, economists, and engineers from Google, Netflix, Meta, and Amazon, we make high-quality decision science tooling and incrementality testing accessible to businesses of all sizes—automating the heavy lifting of experiment design, data processing, and insights generation. Haus works with leading brands like FanDuel, Sonos, and Dr. Squatch, delivering ROI gains as high as 30x.

Haus is well-capitalized and backed by top-tier VCs, including Insight Partners, Baseline Ventures, Haystack, and others. We're honored that Haus has once again been recognized and has made the list for 2025's exceptional startups!

What you’ll do

At Haus, security isn’t a checkbox — it’s built into the way we design, move, and use data. As a Senior Security Engineer, you’ll play a central role in building the infrastructure, data frameworks, and access models that keep our platform safe and compliant while enabling our teams to move fast.

This is a role for an engineer who thrives on autonomy, takes ownership, and has the drive to turn complex security challenges into elegant, scalable solutions. You’ll be hands-on with cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, and data security — while also serving as a trusted consultant to product engineering squads, helping shape secure patterns and best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement least-privilege IAM models across our Google Cloud Platform environments using Terraform.

  • Engineer systems that control and monitor data boundaries and movement (ETL pipelines, data lakes, transformations).

  • Build mechanisms for dataset tagging, access workflows, and live filtering to enforce compliance controls programmatically.

  • Partner with compliance to translate frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) into practical engineering solutions.

  • Evaluate and reduce the blast radius of permissions across infrastructure, applications, and AI-powered services.

  • Contribute to the design of new systems, ensuring security is embedded at the architecture stage.

  • Act as a security consultant to product engineering squads, providing guidance on secure design patterns and reviewing new services for risk.

  • Stay ahead of emerging AI and data security risks, and propose pragmatic defenses.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of experience in security engineering, platform engineering, or related fields.

  • Strong background in cloud security (GCP strongly preferred; AWS or Azure with strong GCP understanding also valued).

  • Deep knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) principles and implementations.

  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.

  • Familiarity with data frameworks, pipelines, and transformation workflows (ETL, data lakes, metadata tagging).

  • Ability to analyze and communicate security risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML data movement and associated risks is a plus.

What we value

  • Autonomy and initiative — you’re a self-starter who can drive projects forward with minimal oversight.

  • Influence through partnership — you know how to embed security practices into product squads without slowing them down.

  • Pragmatism over dogma — balancing speed, security, and business needs.

  • Curiosity and adaptability in a fast-moving environment.

Clarity in communication — explaining technical security concepts without jargon.

What we offer

We’re a high-performance, low-ego team operating in a fast-moving environment. We care deeply about our customers and expect everyone to take full ownership of their work — this is a place where high expectations fuel even higher growth.

If you thrive in ambiguity, take pride in raising the bar, and want to work alongside top-tier peers who challenge and support you, you'll find unmatched opportunities here. If you're looking for predictability or rigid structure or you prefer order-taking to go-getting, we’re probably not the right fit — and that’s okay.

We work in small, mission-driven teams that prioritize inclusion, collaboration, and growth over hierarchy or red tape.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Flexible PTO - take time when you need it!

  • Equity – Startup environment with part-ownership in our successes

  • Top of the line health, dental, and vision insurance - multiple plan options so you can pick what fits you best

  • WFH stipend to support the set up you need to be productive

  • Events & Offsites – opportunities to connect and celebrate in real life!

  • Free Lunch – Grab a bite on us when you choose to work from the office (hub locations include SF, NYC and Seattle)

  • New Parent Leave – take time to welcome your newest Hausmate

Haus is an equal opportunity employer. We make hiring decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.

We believe diverse perspectives make us stronger and are committed to an inclusive culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to contribute. Bring your authentic self — we would love to hear from you.
