Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

This internship is part of Hayfin’s summer programme and offers exposure to the full spectrum of private credit investing. Interns will work within a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic team, contributing to real investment processes and portfolio management activities.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Support investment and due diligence processes, including credit risk analysis, financial modelling, presentation of investment opportunities, and documentation preparation.
  • Conduct macroeconomic, industry, and market research.
  • Assist in monitoring financial and operational performance of portfolio companies.
  • Contribute to quarterly portfolio reviews and investor reporting.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify trends and risks across the portfolio.
  • Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to investment decision-making.

Skills/capabilities

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates an outstanding academic background. You will be proactive, able to work on your own undertaking research across a range of topics, produce a summary of your research and present this to parties across the team/wider organisation.
  • Understands basic accounting, corporate finance and valuation concepts.
  • Has strong analytical and numerical skills and is comfortable analysing and processing financial data.
  • Is a proven team player.
  • Has a proven track record of using MS Office products, especially MS Excel, at an intermediate level.
  • Communicates fluently in English, both verbally and written and is able to articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively.
