Position Overview
Ulteig|Maxima is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Solar CAD Technician II opening within the Solar Electrical group in the Energy Solutions department. The CAD Technician II role assists an assigned group of engineers by providing technical design & drafting support and creating construction drawings under close supervision.
What You'll Do
Successful candidates will assist in the drafting of utility-scale solar design plan sets by accurately drawing models using AutoCAD. Candidates must have strong attention to detail and work well within a team. Typical tasks include:
Utilise Civil3D and existing Microsoft Excel tools to design solar plant layouts, collection systems, single-line diagrams, and supporting details.
Learn and deploy Ulteig’s internal CAD standards and best practices to ensure consistency & quality in our deliverables.
Work with other technicians & engineers to understand the typical guidelines for US-based solar design & apply that knowledge in an environment, and promote continuous learning.
What We Expect from You
Technical degree in drafting, electrical/mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent.
Knowledge of PV electrical and mechanical design preferred.
2+ years of drafting experience.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is required; Civil3D preferred.
Excellent communication skills, including English proficiency – verbal and written.
Must be comfortable communicating and collaborating with colleagues in a remote team environment.
Knowledge of PVFARM, PVCase, or other utility-scale PV design software is a plus
Proven experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Good organisation and time-management skills to ensure projects are completed on schedule
Knowledge of 3D modelling software is a plus, notably Revit.
