Job Overview

JOB DUTIES 

  • Responsible for the Quality Control and documentation of loan reviews completed by compliance teams as well as providing feedback on potential errors to act as subject matter expert
  • Audit loans for final review of loan documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Review data captured by compliance in diligence system against source documents to ensure accuracy
  • Review Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures for compliant changes in fees, update system or issue findings
  • Reviewing compliance test results to ensure accuracy of points and fees data
  • Provide procedures and address issues that may hinder accuracy, timeliness and deadlines
  • Provide coaching, training and development to staff to ensure company and department goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Assist in providing guidance on daily matters and questions regarding underwriting guidelines or compliance questions relating to RESPA (Regulation X), TILA (Regulation Z) and state regulations
  • Ensuring any exceptions are captured and recorded for incorrect or missing documentation, data errors, and any discrepancies
  • Maintaining communication with internal contacts as necessary to ensure expectations and timelines are met; escalating issues, as needed
  • Applying exceptions and handling validations where necessary while also tracking time spent to ensure a complete and accurate review while tracking time spent on reviews


SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to meet production quality and service standards
  • High technical aptitude - we are a tech company so must have familiarity with platforms like Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Office, etc. as well as dedicated office space
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - analytical ability, good judgment, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Ability to produce reports, analyze results, identify issues and take corrective actions
  • Understanding of the credit rating agency requirements, grading and condition clearing processes
  • Current working knowledge of underwriting guidelines, investor guidelines, regulatory compliance and TRID practices
  • Must have experience with Mavent
  • Knowledge of LauraMac system a plus


SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Extensive experience in Quality Control/Due Diligence/Secondary Market as well as fraud investigative reviews, specifically within banking or lending (required)
  • Experienced with reading, analyzing and understanding compliance regulations and required closing documents and disclosures
