Implementation Manager
FullTimeJob Overview
Who We Are
Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.
Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.
This is where Maybern comes in.
We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.
Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for experienced professionals in the private funds industry who are excited to apply their expertise to building and implementing next-generation fund management software.
You might come from a background as a fund accountant, private funds operations professional, or implementation specialist at a fund administration or fund management software provider. What matters most is that you understand the complexity of private funds and enjoy working closely with clients to solve operational challenges through technology.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be part of Maybern’s Implementation team, responsible for managing complex client implementations that bring our product to life. You’ll work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to translate client needs and operational requirements into scalable solutions, ensuring successful setup, configuration, and adoption.
As an Implementation Manager, you’ll oversee multiple client implementations and lead a team of Implementation Analysts, providing guidance, removing roadblocks, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery. You’ll help refine our implementation processes, drive continuous improvement, and serve as a bridge between clients, product, and engineering to make each deployment seamless and impactful.
Build & Strengthen Relationships: You will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with our clients, including their CFOs and Controllers. You will plan onboarding and the roll-out process for new fund managers, and evaluate product enhancements.
Lead & Plan: You will own the planning and execution of onboarding processes for new fund managers. This includes mapping out detailed implementation plans, defining key milestones, and ensuring the right internal teams—such as engineering, product, and support—are engaged at the appropriate stages.
Become a Product Expert: You’ll develop deep expertise in our software to provide strategic guidance during implementation and ongoing client support. Your insight will be critical in uncovering edge cases, solving complex fund structures, and ensuring client success.
Discovery & Solution Design: You'll work closely with clients, particularly CFOs and Controllers, to understand their fund structures and operational needs. This includes participating in discovery sessions and designing solutions tailored to their workflows. Your work directly informs how we structure our implementations and identify product improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and other internal teams, you will contribute to the design and evolution of new features. Your frontline experience gives you a unique perspective that helps shape the roadmap and ensures we continue building with client needs in mind.
Client Relationship Management: As a trusted partner to our clients, you’ll build and maintain strong relationships throughout the implementation journey and beyond. Your ability to align their goals with our platform’s capabilities will be key to their success and satisfaction.
Who You Are
Collaborative. You love to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment managing both internal and external stakeholders, excel at distilling and incorporating feedback, and are a clear and consistent communicator.
Product Vision. You have a deep understanding and experience with the inner workings of fund and investment structures and can translate a variety of structures and calculations in a concise manner. You can apply your knowledge to identify user needs and shape the vision for the user experience.
Attention to Detail. There is no room for error when building software to manage such critical calculations for investment managers.
Leader. You're eager to shape our client operations foundation and will level up team practices and processes. You can take broad guidance and determine the best path forward. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Strategic. You see both the forest and the trees: think big picture, while also living in the weeds of a problem. In looking at a big picture problem, you pay meticulous attention to each detail while keeping high level implications in mind. You can plan for the long term while navigating short-term hurdles.
Curious: You enjoy learning about different technical concepts and clients’ unique approaches to managing their fund finance operations.
This Could Be a Great Fit If You…
Have 5+ years of experience in private funds, whether in fund accounting, fund operations, or implementing fund management software.
Have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent experience is a plus.
Are comfortable translating complex fund structures and calculations into clear, scalable solutions.
Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and are comfortable presenting to clients.
Are proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Are knowledgeable in fund accounting systems (Yardi, Investran, etc.).
Have experience with investment structures and financial statements.
Have a heightened attention to detail that can be applied to the translation of a variety of private fund structures and calculations into a flexible software solution.
