What You’ll Do
We have a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to play an integral role in leading the compliance requirements for our Payroll function. The Payroll Lead will provide governance for the People & Culture operation to ensure legislation, policies and processes are compliant.
This role is a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Head of Employee Relations and ER Team to interpret and implement legislative requirements
- Ensure P&C policies and processes align with current legislation and are reflected in processes and systems
- Lead the integration of new Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) into the payroll system, working with HR, union representatives and legal to ensure all pay structures and entitlements are accurately implemented
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure compliance with National Employment Standards, Awards, and Agreements, including leading payroll audits with the Payroll Manager
- Manage quarterly control self-assessments for People Support, Payroll and ER as well as 2-year review of policies and procedures
- Review and approve payroll runs, ensuring compliance with tax, superannuation, and other regulations
- Manage and oversee EOFY, FBT, and Group Tax processes, and provide support during peak periods or absences.
- Assist with adhoc reporting, analysis or redundancy requests for Senior Management.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Project/Systems role with a relevant tertiary qualification
- At least 5 years’ experience in Payroll, including leadership responsibilities
- Solid understanding of compliance principles and advanced investigative skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Developed written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to People/HR systems is desirable but not essential.
