Job Overview


Job Duties:

 

The Ice Machine Technician will provide on-site service to healthcare facilities, ensuring sanitation standards are met for commercial equipment – specifically, but not limited to, ice machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations while adhering to strict safety protocols.

 

Tasks

·      Routine Cleaning & Maintenance: perform scheduled cleanings and preventative maintenance of commercial ice machines to prevent biofilm buildup, mold, and scale. 

·      Sanitation & Compliance: Ensure machines meet health and safety standards, especially in   the food service or healthcare environments.

·      Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to schedule service, explain procedures, and provide recommendations.

·      Troubleshooting: Identify and report mechanical issues or inefficiencies in ice machines.

·      Documentation: Maintain service logs, inspection reports, and compliance records.

·      Consistently uphold workplace safety standards, always ensuring proper use of PPE.

·      Overtime and weekend work will be based on job demands.  

·      Other duties as assigned.  

 

Skills & Qualifications

·         Basic mechanical aptitude or experience with HVAC/refrigeration system.

·         Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards

·         Ability to work independently and manage a service route

·         Professional appearance, good communication, and customer service skills

 

  

Education & Experience

·         High school diploma, or equivalent; technical training preferred.

·         Valid Driver’s License & reliable transportation 

·         Experience in cleaning facility equipment is preferred

 

 

Physical Demands

·         Lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing (stairs and structures), and stooping. 

·         Standing, walking, sitting, reaching outward, reaching above shoulders, climbing, crawling, squatting, bending and kneeling.

 

Work Environment

 

·         In or around a healthcare/hotel facility setting

·         Potential to expand manufacturing and industrial settings as opportunities present

 

Prerequisites / Requirements:

·         Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.

·         Valid Driver’s License.

·         Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
