About the Role

The Senior Tax Manager will oversee the PH and other jurisdictions tax and compliance operations, ensuring the company meets all regulatory and tax standards across various entities and locations. This position encompasses strategic planning, overseeing compliance activities, and managing interactions with tax authorities.

  • Work hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Manila/Philippine Time

  • Work set-up: Hybrid (Preferably can report to either Makati/Mandaluyong Offices at least 3x a week ; and more if there are seasonal audit reviews)

What you’ll do

Tax Strategy:

  • Develop and execute global tax and compliance strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.

  • Provide guidance on cross-border tax issues and international tax planning.

  • Identify and assist with the implementation of tax planning and tax saving strategies

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Tax return review: Detail review moderate to complex tax returns (all PH, SG, and HK returns) and compliance.

  • Review quarterly and annual income tax projections, estimated tax exposures and tax optimization covering of Pen Brothers Group of Companies.

  • Handle all tax related audits (Internal and external), ensure tax reconciliations are reviewed and accurate prior to submission to BIR examiners and relevant internal revenue examiners in PB’s other locations (SG and HK)

  • Handle tax refunds and coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders, as needed

  • Communicate any changes in the tax regulations in a timely manner and ensure that compliances are strictly observed.

Transfer Pricing:

  • Manage and implement transfer pricing policies and ensure strict compliance with the jurisdiction specific guidelines

  • Provide support and documentation for any relevant audits

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify and manage tax compliance potential risks and exposure across entities

  • Develop, implement, review and continuously improve policies and procedures to mitigate tax related risks.

  • Stay current on latest tax law changes. Take advantage of continuing education opportunities.

  • Research complicated technical issues and reach appropriate conclusion

Leadership, Development & Partnership:

  • Assist in developing a high-performing tax and finance operations team, while supporting the Head of Finance and Accounting Operations and serving as a backup in their absence.

  • Assist other departments on tax, legal and compliance related matters

  • Assist in the review of contracts and collaborate with the legal team for tax related clauses. Assist with consulting projects, as needed

External relations:

  • Participate in client meetings as they relate not only to tax planning

  • Communicate with other tax consultants and best practice of tax application

  • Work with external auditors on PH, SG, and HK for the compliance of various returns and regulatory compliances.

  • Represent the company in tax-related negotiations and discussions
