Role: Accounts Receivable Associate
Location: Must Reside in Houston, TX;
Employment Type: Full-time
Summary/Objective
Contribute to the maintenance of financial records and assist in various accounting tasks within our growing organization. Possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
Essential Functions
· Aids in maintaining general ledgers, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and adherence to regulatory and company standards.
· Conducts account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
· Executes month-end close processes per monthly and quarterly schedules.
· Owns all Accounts Receivable activities.
· Customer onboarding
· Organize, maintain, and update customer records on various platforms.
· Generate and ensure the accuracy of invoices.
· Guarantee all invoices get distributed to customers.
· Owns all Collections activities.
· Apply incoming payments from customers to invoices.
· Provide account statements.
· Responsible for detailed AR reporting to management.
· Collaborate with customers and team members to resolve billing issues
· Contributes to special projects and offers financial support as required.
· Ensures adherence to regulatory and company standards in financial reporting and documentation.
· Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Skills and Attributes
· Proficiency in accounting software and ERPs.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and reconcile accounts.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in recording financial transactions and preparing reports.
· Time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
· Professional communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is not a supervisory role; however, the ideal candidate would foster a mentorship mindset and attitude amongst peers.
Work Environment
This job operates in a hybrid office environment model. A minimum of 2 days on site are required, though additional days may be required from time to time at the Manager’s discretion. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating office equipment, typing using a computer keyboard and mouse, viewing a computer screen monitor, and use of a
telephone. Position may require lifting, occasional bending or kneeling. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time. The employee may regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
Travel
No business travel is required for this roll.
Required Education and Experience
· Associate's or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or pursuing a degree in accounting or related field (essential).
· 3-5 years’ experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar position.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
· Solid understanding of revenue accounting and experience.
· Advanced Excel Skills
· QuickBooks experience highly preferred.
· MS Teams for communication
