Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer role is for 12 months

Purpose of the Job:   

The role of a Mechanical Engineer involves providing application solutions, drawings, and technical support for various Rotork Application teams worldwide. This position requires individual contribution to mechanical product design and product enhancements.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:  

• Review customer requests for quotation (RFQ), including technical and commercial specifications. Identify cost effective best suited engineered product for the application.  
• Read, analyze and interpret customer supplied specifications, data sheets, drawings, and schematics.  
• Size and select appropriate Rotork actuators and communicate this information to customers using established format.    
• Clarify any deviations, assumptions or exceptions to customer project specifications and state recommendations.  
• Interface with cross-functional teams to review projects and develop a plan of action prior to quotation and after receipt of order.  
• The design and preparation of Pneumatic / Hydraulic Schematics and control circuits, including technical selection of components specific to requests.  
• The preparation of General Arrangement (GA) Drawings to Quality Standards as set out in the Company Procedures 
• To ensure that all orders are engineered in line with the specific quotation and that all costs are covered within the quoted prices.  
• Convert stakeholder/customer requirements to functional technical design requirements. 
• Providing technical design solutions meeting customer requirements. 
• Undertake design reviews to ensure that Rotork designs and solutions comply with specifications and relevant standards 
• Develop and provide cost estimates in collaboration with all business disciplines 
• Develop and prepare project plans to influence project timescales
