About role
In our team you as a SAP API Developer would be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs that facilitate seamless data exchange both within SAP systems and with external applications. You would be translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of the developed APIs. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams and provide ongoing support and documentation for integration solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and implement custom APIs and integration scenarios using SAP integration technologies like SAP Process Orchestration (PO), Process Integration (PI), and SAP Gateway.
- Develop ABAP programs and enhance existing SAP solutions to align with specific business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts and functional teams to gather and understand technical requirements, translating them into detailed technical specifications.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interaction between SAP systems and other applications.
- Conduct unit testing and support integration testing to validate the quality and functionality of developed integrations.
- Debug and validate developed integrations and APIs to ensure proper performance.
- Monitor integration processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing support for integration solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing SAP APIs and interfaces, ensuring they continue to meet evolving business needs.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues arising within SAP systems related to integrations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system design documents, test scripts, and user manuals.
- Document development processes, integration solutions, and any changes made to the system.
- Perform system performance tuning and optimization to enhance the efficiency and speed of API operations.
- Ensure that applications are secure by implementing proper authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Adhere to coding standards and industry best practices during API development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SAP technologies, including ABAP, SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, and SAP Gateway.
- Proven experience with SAP integration tools such as SAP Process Orchestration (PO) and Process Integration (PI).
- Understanding of integration protocols and technologies, including REST and SOAP.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages, such as Java, is a plus.
