Job Purpose
- Provide support to tender management unit in analysing financial statements of SDP’s vendors, conducting financial risk assessments and providing insights and recommendations to support decision making processes.
- Analyse and evaluate data to monitor financial performance and capacity of vendors, identifying opportunities for cost savings based on competition force among vendors.
Job Responsibilities
Finance
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive financial assessments of SDP’s vendors to evaluate their financial health, performance and viability, which includes but not limited, to the following procedures:
- Review of audited and latest available management accounts
- Assessment of going concerns through review of profitability and liquidity position by reference to past P&L, cash flow, facilities available.
- Review of receivables and payables aging
- Identifying and addressing potential red flags through discussions with vendors’ finance teams
- Assist hender of tenders to respond to risk management inquiries in relation to vendors' financials whenever necessary
Process Improvement
- Improve financial data collection process from vendors
- Review and enhance financial assessment criteria and scoring on an ongoing basis
Analytics
- Analyse and evaluate data to monitor financial performance and capacity of vendors, identifying opportunities for cost savings based on competition force among vendors.
People and communication
- Coaching and guide tender management unit in all financial matters relating to the tenders.
- (including knowledge sharing)
Group Finance
- Attend to financial queries from members of Tender Committees.
- Review management papers and other financial documents relating to the tenders.
- Involve in meeting organised by Group Finance to discuss and provide insights on the financial findings.
Job Responsibilities (Con't)
Special Project
- Involvement/ Participate in special project(s) spearheaded by C&C (relevant to financial e.g. SST)
- Attend to any adhoc tasks assigned by CPCO
Education/ Professional Qualification
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Professional membership in ACCA, CIMA, MICPA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent (preferred but not compulsory)
Professional Experience
- At least 6-8 years relevant working experience in finance function involved in preparation and/or review of financial statements and management accounts
- Experience in construction industry 3 years working experience in audit
