Certification Requirements
- RDMS Certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in one or more of the following specialties:
- Abdomen
- Breast
- Obstetrics & Gynecology
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification (current and valid).
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing diagnostic ultrasound exams.
- Proficiency in:
- Abdominal and retroperitoneal imaging
- Small parts
- Gynecology
- Male pelvis
- Obstetrics
- Vascular imaging (arterial and venous studies)
- Experience with vascular studies, including:
- Upper and lower extremity venous
- Carotid
- Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)/Segmental Pressures
- Aorta
- Renal Artery
- Lower Extremity Arterial (including stents and bypasses)
- Preferred: Experience with Philips EPIQ 7 or EPIQ 5 systems.
- Knowledge of digital imaging and PACS systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound studies, including but not limited to:
- Abdominal (Gallbladder, Liver, Renal, Pancreas, Spleen, Bladder, pelvic pathology)
- Renal Sonography
- Renal Artery Doppler (rule out renal artery stenosis)
- Bladder
- Abdomen Doppler
- Aorta
- Lower Extremity Venous Doppler (rule out DVT)
- Carotid Doppler
- Lower Extremity Arterial Limb Studies
- Pelvic
- Chest Sonogram
- Superficial masses
- Scrotal Sonogram (rule out mass, torsion, abscess, infection)
- Lower Extremity Vein Mapping
- Upper Extremity Vein Mapping
- Expected case volume: 8–15 exams per day.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely upload of images to PACS.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
