Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who excels in managing multiple clients simultaneously and thrives in a dynamic, multi-account environment. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, communicates clearly with clients, and takes initiative to identify financial trends and offer strategic insights—not just transactional support.

This role requires someone who can confidently manage 10–25 clients each month, handle multiple accounting systems, and navigate various payroll, banking, and third-party platforms efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across various industries.
  • Perform weekly transaction coding and reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Reconcile revenue against third-party reports.
  • Execute month-end close procedures, including accruals, adjustments, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain documented workflows and ensure accurate chart of accounts management.
  • Coordinate payroll activities — track hours, review reports, and post payroll entries.
  • Support 1099 processes, including vendor onboarding and W-9 collection.
  • Communicate proactively with clients — request documents, answer questions, and flag potential issues early.
  • Explain financials clearly to clients and provide guidance based on observations and analysis.
  • Conduct cleanup and diagnostic reviews when necessary.
  • Use Keeper (client portal synced with QuickBooks Online) for workflow management and bookkeeping reviews.
  • Assist with IT documentation and billing setup during client onboarding.

Work Schedule - Monday to Friday 9AM to 6PM CST

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping experience in a multi-client is a must
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Comfortable jumping between multiple clients and industries
  • Strong ability to explain financial concepts to non-accountants
  • Experience with payroll coordination and month-end reporting
  • Familiarity with Excel, Microsoft 365, and Outlook
  • Experience with Keeper is a plus
