Medical Biller- Claims Specialist

Staffing for Doctors is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our billing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical billing processes and procedures, including coding, claims submission, and follow-up with insurance payers. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing for various healthcare services, maintaining compliance with regulations, and facilitating timely payments. You will play a crucial role in managing the accounts receivable process, resolving any billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies, and collaborating closely with clinical and administrative staff to streamline the billing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately code and submit healthcare claims for various medical services.
• Review patient records to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
• Submit Claims, Follow up on outstanding claims and manage appeals for denied claims.
• Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Communicate with patients regarding their statements and any billing inquiries.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities and correspondence.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and office staff to address billing discrepancies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role.
• Previous experience working as a VA for a family practice and internal medicine is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10) and billing regulations.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications in medical billing (e.g., AAPC, AMBA) are a plus.
