The job - Senior Business Controller - Future Finance Director track
As our Senior Business Controller, you will play a key role in driving The July’s performance and international growth. With four hotels open in Amsterdam and London and three new properties under development in Dublin and Lisbon, you will combine strategic financial leadership with hands-on control of both operations and investments. You will be a trusted advisor to senior management, ensuring financial clarity, value creation, and disciplined decision-making. We are looking for a Senior Business Controller who can grow into the role of Finance Director, depending on performance and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
Together with the Business Controller, prepare monthly management reports and KPI dashboards for the Executive Team and shareholder Aware Super.
Lead the annual budget cycle and ongoing reforecasting for both operating hotels and development projects.
Oversee the financial monitoring and reporting of three active hotel construction projects.
Act as strategic sparring partner to the CFO, COO, Commercial Team, Operations Leadership, and Executive Team.
Strengthen commercial performance management through scenario planning, investment cases, and ROI analysis.
Support pre-opening teams with financial guidance, staffing and cost planning, and operating model development.
Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives such as reporting digitalisation, BI implementation, and optimisation of the group planning cycle
Promote strong data governance by ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting, BI tools, and financial processes
