BI Engineer

About the role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented BI Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support monitoring existing reports, query our data warehouse (bigquery) for ad hoc requests, and writing python code to get data out of api endpoints. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in lead generation, especially in the legal vertical.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced environment and play a key role in expanding our reach and impact in the mass tort industry.

Location: Remote (must be available 9am - 5pm Eastern Time)

What you'll do

• Build and update dashboards
• Understand semantic layer (LookML, Cube)
• Monitor dashboards to find outliers and inconsistencies
• Work closely with other departments to investigate sources of errors. Then fixing the problem or creating a summary of the issue and working with our data engineer to fix it.
• Format reporting in excel and merge data from multiple datasets with vlookup and other advanced excel functions.
• Write ad hoc sql multiple table join queries to get data 
• • We use MySQL and BigQuery but experience with any sql RDBMS works
• Write clean and composable SQL code 
• • Knowledge of CTE and window functions is required
• Write python code to pull data from api rest apis

Ongoing Activities

• Give suggestions on ways to increase revenue or decrease costs from data.
• Writing documentation on how our data process works and errors we encounter

Qualifications

• 3+ years SQL (MySQL or similar)
• 4+ years of excel
• 2+ year of LookML experience
• Git Experience
• Experience with JSON and CSV

Nice to Have

• Python or other programming experience
• Prefect
• dbt
