Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced Application Maintenance / Production Support Engineer to manage and support mission-critical banking applications. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in L2 support, server environments, databases, and scripting, with the flexibility to work in shift-based operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 production support for banking applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and system issues.
  • Monitor application performance, logs, server health, and batch processes to ensure seamless operations.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Jboss or WebLogic application servers, Webservers, and Java-based application environments.
  • Support applications hosted on Unix/Linux platforms by performing log analysis, process checks, deployments, and environment validations.
  • Execute and optimize SQL queries for Oracle, MSSQL, or MySQL databases.
  • Develop and enhance Shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational activities.
  • Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams for issue resolution and enhancements.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA, compliance, and operational controls required within banking environments.
  • Prepare root cause analysis (RCA) documents and maintain production support documentation.
  • Participate in shift rotations, including night shifts and weekend on-call support as required.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Application Maintenance / Production Support roles.
  • Expertise in Jboss or WebLogic, Webservers, and Java application support.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle / MSSQL / MySQL databases and ability to write/execute SQL queries.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting and working on Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Mandatory:
    • Strong experience working in L2 support
    • Willingness to work in shifts
    • Experience supporting applications hosted on Webservers and Java servers
  • Mandatory: Banking domain experience.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage high-severity incidents.
