As part of our growing operations, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team in Athens. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and smooth collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

 

Role Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, tax compliance, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with the applicable Greek and international standards. This role is vital for ensuring accurate financial data and supporting the organization’s financial transparency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day entries in the General Ledger and process accounting documents.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, payroll taxes, E3, E1, ENFIA, E9, etc.) in compliance with Greek tax legislation.
  • Monitor and perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, cash, expenses, receivables, and payables.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, manage depreciation schedules, and monitor other asset-related transactions.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to internal accounting procedures and policies.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with Greek Tax Legislation and Greek GAAP (Ε.Λ.Π.).
  • Experience in working with ERP systems (e.g., Entersoft, EpsilonNet).
  • Familiarity with IFRS will be considered an additional asset.

 

Academic Background & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or technical institution (AEI/TEI) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Valid A΄Class Accountant - Tax Consultant License from the Economic Chamber of Greece will be considered an additional asset.

 

Languages & Technical Capabilities

  • Fluency in Greek and good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Proficiency with ERP accounting software.
