We are seeking a highly motivated Backend Engineer (L3/L4) with 0–1 years of professional experience to join our fast-paced engineering team. This role is ideal for early-career developers who possess strong foundational knowledge of backend technologies, a passion for building scalable systems, and the curiosity to solve complex engineering challenges. You will work closely with senior engineers to design, implement, and optimize backend services that power high-performance applications used by thousands of users.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Development & API Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side features using modern backend technologies.
• Build robust, scalable, and secure RESTful or GraphQL APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and help implement best practices for microservices and distributed systems.

2. Database Design & Management

• Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases to design efficient schema, write optimized queries, and ensure data consistency.
• Assist in performance tuning, indexing, and database-level optimizations to support high-volume traffic.

3. Code Quality & Testing

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with industry standards.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and contribute to automated testing frameworks to maintain system reliability.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous learning.

4. Performance, Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Support the development of high-performance systems by optimizing application logic and identifying bottlenecks.
• Assist in setting up logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure system stability.
• Troubleshoot production issues under the guidance of senior engineers and contribute to long-term fixes.

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with frontend, product, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services.
• Engage in sprint planning, technical discussions, and documentation efforts.
• Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve development efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 0–1 years of experience in backend development (internships, freelance, or project work is acceptable).
• Strong programming fundamentals in Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or a similar backend language.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and core computer science concepts.
• Basic experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and server-side frameworks.
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Knowledge of version control systems, especially Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and eagerness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with backend projects (academic or personal), showcasing real-world problem-solving.
• Exposure to cloud-native environments, containerization, and modern development workflows.
• Basic understanding of caching mechanisms, message queues, and distributed systems concepts.
