Our dedicated HIS team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.
The Epic Pharmacist Application Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, build, testing and support of the Epic Pharmacy module and medication build. This role is part of the HIS project structure, with a key responsibility to design, deliver and sustain our systems to address both clinical and non-clinical needs, ensuring the HIS is utilized effectively and efficiently in patient care.
Accountabilities:
- Participate in workflow design, analysis, build, testing and maintenance tasks associated with the Epic software
- Provide clinical expertise on medication management best practices and ensure that solutions developed in Epic are created with clinical considerations in mind
- Provide sign off on all medication build within Epic
- Analyze, review and test new functionality in Epic software releases
- Work closely with the Epic HIS vendor and operational subject matter experts to help create the future state workflows by participating and leading site visits, working group meetings, validation sessions and other related meetings
- Create and maintain documentation to build a repository of key configuration decisions and associated build
- Facilitate and participate meetings to discuss deliverables, issues, end user concerns and upcoming milestones
- Work closely with HIS team members to identify, document, and troubleshoot issues to find creative resolutions
- Partner with the Epic HIS vendor representatives to maintain communication and help vendor staff understand hospital’s operational needs
- Achieve Epic certification and/or accreditation
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
- Work extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required
