Harnest, part of the Mazzei Group, is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead our end-to-end bid and tender function as we continue to grow across Australia.

Working across government, community, social, affordable, Specialist Disability Accommodation and First Nations housing, you’ll bring structure, clarity and commercial thinking to a portfolio of concurrent opportunities - helping Harnest secure projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for communities.

Based in Hawthorn and reporting to the Sales Director, you’ll work closely with senior leaders across Estimating, Design, Construction, Procurement and Project Management Office.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead bids, expressions of interest and tenders from opportunity identification through to submission and internal handover

  • Coordinate inputs across Estimating, Design, Construction, Procurement, PMO and Legal

  • Manage tender programs, deadlines, risks, actions and stakeholder responsibilities

  • Review tender, contract and technical documentation to identify key requirements, obligations and delivery risks

  • Write and edit clear, compelling and fully compliant tender submissions

  • Research market opportunities and continuously improve Harnest’s bid library, templates and tender processes

What You’ll Bring

  • At least four years’ experience in bid management, bid writing or a related construction or design role

  • Strong written communication, research and tender coordination capabilities

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple stakeholders, workstreams and competing deadlines

  • The ability to review tender and contract documentation and identify commercial and delivery risks

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and accountability

  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to drive actions across multidisciplinary teams

  • The initiative to shape and improve a developing bid function

  • A qualification in property, construction, architecture or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience

Experience in government or community housing, construction, architecture, design, ECI or negotiated procurement will be highly regarded. Formal project management training or qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or AIPM accreditation would also be advantageous.
