Job Overview

Workster is looking for an experienced and proactive Central Ops Manager to join a fast-growing e-bike and micromobility operator in Berlin. This on-site role is ideal for someone with strong operational leadership experience in shared mobility, fleet management, or logistics who thrives in a dynamic, user-focused environment. Join a diverse team and help scale safe, reliable, and sustainable mobility services across the city.

Your Role in Central Operations (E-Bike / Mobility)

  • Lead and coordinate daily central operations for the Berlin fleet, ensuring high availability, safety, and reliability of e-bikes and other micromobility vehicles.

  • Manage and optimise processes across battery swaps, charging hubs, maintenance, repairs, vehicle redistribution, and depot workflows.

  • Supervise and develop operational staff and field teams (mechanics, chargers, logistics partners), fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor operational KPIs (availability, uptime, incident rates, turnaround times, cost per ride) and deliver data-driven improvements to meet growth targets and SLA commitments.

  • Collaborate with dispatch, customer support, product and engineering teams to prioritise fixes, improve usability, and resolve service incidents quickly.

  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors (repair shops, logistics providers, charging network operators) to ensure service level adherence and cost-effective operations.

  • Own inventory management for spare parts, tools and consumables, and implement robust stock control to minimise downtime.

  • Develop and maintain health & safety protocols, incident reporting and compliance documentation in line with local regulations.

  • Plan and execute operational projects such as fleet scale-ups, seasonal demand planning, and pilot deployments of new vehicle types or features.

  • Prepare regular operational reports for senior management and contribute to strategic planning and budgeting processes.

Your Qualifications for Central Ops Management

  • 3–6 years of operations, logistics, or fleet management experience, ideally within shared mobility, micromobility, e-mobility, delivery fleets, or urban logistics.

  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead distributed field teams and external contractors effectively.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with operational metrics and dashboards (Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools).

  • Hands-on knowledge of vehicle maintenance processes, battery handling and safety practices; technical understanding of e-bike systems is a plus.

  • Excellent organisational skills with a track record of process design, optimisation and project delivery in fast-paced environments.

  • Effective communicator in English; German proficiency preferred but not mandatory.

  • Valid driving licence and willingness to be on-site in Berlin with occasional out-of-hours availability for incidents or deployments.

  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.

The Offer: Why Join Our Mobility Team?

  • Permanent, full-time role based in Berlin with a competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Opportunity to shape operations at a scaling e-bike/micromobility operator and influence product and service direction.

  • Performance-related bonus and benefits including mobility allowance, pension contribution and public transport support.

  • Training and professional development to grow into senior operational or regional leadership roles.

  • Inclusive, diverse workplace and collaborative team culture committed to sustainability and urban innovation.

  • Modern office and depot facilities in Berlin and the tools required to succeed in a hands-on operational role.
