Construction Coordinator - Mozambique

Job Overview

ISS International SpA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Coordinator to join our client in the LNG Industry based in Mozambique.


Mission: Manage and supervise site activities regarding construction and pre-commissioning ensuring that the time, cost, quality, safety and environmental requirements of construction activities are meet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day construction activities at site.

  • Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Commissioning and Project Management teams.

  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project procedures.

  • Ensure construction activities are completed according to the approved project schedule and milestones.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, E&I and HVAC, as applicable.

  • Review construction progress and identify potential delays, constraints and interface issues.

  • Attend daily/weekly construction coordination meetings and provide progress updates.

  • Ensure proper coordination between different contractors and disciplines to avoid clashes and work interruptions.

  • Follow up on RFI, technical queries, punch lists and construction documentation.

  • Coordinate with the Planning/Scheduling team regarding progress measurement and recovery plans.

  • Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with HSE requirements and permit-to-work procedures.

  • Monitor quality of workmanship and coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and testing.

  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including system handover and punch-list closeout.

  • Maintain accurate records of construction progress, inspections, site instructions and technical issues.

  • Escalate construction problems, delays and technical issues to the Construction Manager.

  • Support project closeout, final documentation and handover activities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant construction experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical or Energy projects.

  • Previous experience in major international EPC/EPCIC projects is preferred.

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary construction environments.

  • Experience with offshore, onshore or LNG projects will be an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of construction procedures, project specifications, QA/QC and HSE requirements.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and work fronts.

  • Good knowledge of construction planning, progress monitoring and project documentation.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and international project environment.

  • Previous Africa/Mozambique project experience is an advantage
