Payroll Officer (Cyprus Legislation)

Job Overview

We are looking for a Payroll Officer who can take full ownership of monthly payroll processing within a multinational group environment.

This role requires someone who understands Cyprus payroll legislation in depth and can operate with accuracy, structure and discretion. You will act as a key control point between HR, Finance, external payroll providers and banking institutions, ensuring that payroll is processed correctly, legally compliant, and delivered on time.

This position suits a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable handling complexity, high headcount volumes and confidential data in a fast-paced international organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for group employees

  • Collect, review, and validate payroll input from internal departments

  • Coordinate with external payroll providers and review calculations prior to approval

  • Prepare and execute salary payments across relevant jurisdictions

  • Upload and manage payroll batch files in banking systems

  • Ensure full compliance with Cyprus payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory requirements

  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and group-level payroll analyses

  • Post payroll-related journal entries into accounting systems

  • Maintain accurate payroll documentation and employee records

  • Generate payroll reports and management analyses as required

  • Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and confidential manner

  • Work closely with HR to ensure data accuracy and policy compliance

  • Support additional payroll and finance-related tasks as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Strong and practical knowledge of Cyprus payroll legislation (mandatory)

  • Experience handling payroll for multinational groups (150+ employees)

  • Solid understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance

  • Experience coordinating with external payroll providers

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

  • Greek language is an advantage

  • Knowledge of Estonia or other jurisdictions is a plus

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

  • Structured, organized, and able to work under deadlines
