​​About the role:
The Regional Collection Manager position is a field based role under the Global Risk and Credit team in Madagascar. The role holder will be in charge of overseeing and managing credit risk & other risks within the Easy buy business with a special focus on collections and recoveries. This role requires designing, implementing, and maintaining robust credit risk controls and operational processes to strengthen/improve the portfolio health and compliance. 

What you would be expected to do:

Evaluate portfolio performance:
  • Identifying and classifying customers at risk of default through data evaluation and direct client interaction.
  • Identification of portfolio Reflags and timely reporting of the same
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of risk indicators and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Evaluating  regional/Area trends, specific Product trends and proposing remedies to avert any negative trends.
Audit & Compliance: 
  • Conduct internal audits to identify process gaps and ensure compliance with existing policies- (Underwriting, Collection process, Welcome, Repossession process, Change of details etc )
  • Provide detailed findings with actionable risk mitigation recommendations.
Collections Interventions: 
  • Engage in proactive collection strategies i.e. ensuring KYC and Underwriting strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of clients on boarded.
  • Generate, Define and implement field based collection strategies directly or through the field teams to improve collections.
  • Develop portfolio management policies
Fraud management: 
  • Ensure investigations into reported fraud cases are done in a timely manner and cases closed within SLA.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare comprehensive field reports including data collation, process documentation, and operational insights. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of risk indicators and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Any other task allocated by the credit head/Risk management team in relation to the role scope from time to time.

You would be a strong candidate if you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s Degree in finance, Risk Management or a related business field, over 5 years related experience preferably in the Audit/Risk/Credit/Analytics department with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Possess any other relevant certification in Credit Management or Business evaluation/Statistics/ Data/Computer Science is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate significant knowledge of data collection, field surveys 
  • Are excellent in planning, organizational and evaluation skills with strong attention to detail
  • Are proficient in English.
  • Show self-drive, flexibility, can quickly adapt to change, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Have clear thinking/problem solving ability. Ability to spearhead/steer projects/process improvement within operations and drive positive change, being able to break down complex issues into simpler steps and resolve them
  • Possess strong people- management skills to direct and motivate a team of professionals
  • Have excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written expression.
  • Demonstrate team work skills and stakeholder management: Ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders, working.
  • Have the ability to work with teams to ensure sound business outcome.
  • Are outstanding in planning and organization.
  • Have the ability to work alone with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrate willingness to spend 70% of the time in the field.
  • Have high level of integrity and discretion.
