Job Overview

Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar

About the role:
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Associate Manager, Operations will assist the Operations Team by performing a variety of processes to ensure consistent service delivery as per assigned KPIs. This will include but not limited to Imports, Procurement, Inbound Logistics, Outbound Logistics, inventory management and Warehouse Operations. They will be involved in the initial operations department set up in Madagascar.

What you will be expected to do:

Operations Management
  • Demonstrate practical ability to handle huge chunks of data evaluation using Vlookup, Pivot tables, and advance excel formula, and reporting.
  • Inventory reporting, Planning and Forecasting
  • Think through operational processes and design sustainable solutions
  • Undertake system (ERP &CRM) transactions for all operations activities

Warehouse and Inventory Management
  • Setting up a warehouse
  • Oversee the management of warehouse and retail points - ensuring stocks are managed through inventory management best practices.
  • Monitoring the inventory needs while coordinating with the sales team and escalating to relevant teams as needed in order to meet business needs and timelines.

Procurement:
  • ERP system transactions
  • Maintain an up to date approved vendors database
  • Establishing and management of supplier relationships
  • Handle end to end procurement processes 
  • Cash flow forecasting

Inbound & Outbound Logistics: 
  • Onboard relevant 3PLs; clearing agents, security firms and transportation companies.
  • Oversee importation and exportation of products into Madagascar in liaison with established clearing agents.
  • Management of 3PL relationships
  • System transactions for all in/outbound logistics.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

You might be a strong candidate if you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Procurement & Logistics, or related field, with 4+ years’ relevant experience.
  • Possess strong knowledge of supply chain operations, including import/export, transport routes, warehousing, inventory, retail, and last-mile distribution.
  • Are value-motivated, passionate about serving rural off-grid consumers, and able to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Have proven experience with ERP systems and proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Are familiar with regional legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, with strong people relations and teamwork abilities.
  • Are skilled in business planning, procurement, and problem-solving, with the ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities.
