Key Responsibilities
The role will provide support to DND equipment managers in the area of Sustainment Business Case Analysis (SBCA) ‘Sprints’. The purpose of SBCA Sprints are to deliver an enhanced sustainment solution directed by the core team and provided for leadership approval that integrates performance, flexibility, value for money, and benefit to Canada, and articulates any gaps in these areas.

The SBCA Senior Consultant will:
- Facilitate complex in-person and virtual sessions to guide technical, procurement, and contract representatives to develop sustainment solutions and contracts to meet the Defence Procurement Strategy requirements, and follow the Sustainment Business Case Analysis process; and
- Draft sustainment documentation to assist teams including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Statements of Work, Contract documentation, workshop decks and templates.
- Act as a SBCA Sprint Sustainment Facilitator, including:
- Guiding the core team on the process;
- Guiding the team through workshop presentations;
- Using templates to guide discussions;
- Directing document facilitator to capture action items and display documents; and
- Ensuring technical scribe captures appropriate information;
- Act as SBCA Sprint Technical Scribe, including:
- Documenting content, including WBS refinement;
- Documenting and summarizing outcomes and outputs from OAs in Sprint Outcome Document;
- Documenting content, including pricing approach, in the WBS; and
- Documenting content, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Management Frameworks in Sprint Summary Documents.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or other relevant area of study.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience post-graduation facilitating SBCA’s
- Proficient user of the Microsoft 365 suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Task Boards, Teams)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with the Department of National Defence, specifically their materiel needs and procurement policies
Desirable:
- Experience working within the Government, Defence, Transport or Resources sector.
- Experience working with complex projects.
