The Faculty of Creative & Culinary Arts, Animal Science, Automotive & Technology is looking to appoint a dynamic, forward thinking animal science lecturer who has vision and drive to work with the existing team in the future direction of the animal science provision at Coleg Ceredigion. You’ll be delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across various levels (Entry 3 to Level 6), supporting curriculum development, and mentoring learners towards their academic and professional goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inspiring lessons in animal science across multiple levels
- Develop curriculum resources and contribute to faculty innovation
- Take on the role of a Learning Area Programme Lead (LAP leader) for one cohort and contribute to the management of this subject area
- Support learner progress through pastoral care and academic coaching
- Liaise with employers, industry experts, and higher education institutions etc.
- Promote learner placement opportunities and experiential learning
- Maintain high standards of classroom management, assessment, and quality assurance
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant degree or equivalent Higher Education/Advanced
qualification - Teaching qualification (If you are not in possession of a teaching qualification as at the date of employment, you will be required to obtain a PGCE within 2 years of this date)
- GCSE English and Mathematics at minimum Grade C or O Level equivalent
- Documented evidence of appropriate Professional Development
- Relevant practical/industrial experience in animal sciences
- Good literacy and numeracy skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work harmoniously with learners and colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent punctuality and ability to work flexibly
- Willingness to drive a college minibus
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant teaching experience
- Business experience in the land based industries
- A good understanding of relevant issues in post 16 education
- A proven track record of high levels of learner attainment
- Awareness of key performance indicators
- Evidence of innovative teaching and learning activities
- Evidence of effective tracking and monitoring of learner performance
- Experience of actively participating in the pastoral care of
young people - Sound understanding of digital literacy
- Willingness to contribute to develop extra-curricular activities
Welsh Language Requirements:
- Welsh Oracy (Listening/Speaking) - Level 3/4 Essential
- Welsh Literacy (Writing/Reading) - Level 3/4 Essential
