About the role

This position will be responsible for organizing shipping logistics, receiving materials, and maintaining the shop and warehouse areas at the Houston location, and assisting with Supply Chain Management in warehouse operations.

Location & Flexibility: 
In terms of location, we have an office in Houston, TX and this role is onsite at our location and there is no remote work. This role is a full-time, 40 hours work week position. 


Key Responsibilities

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Material Handler duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Receive and kit project materials.
  • Maintain PO receiving in Deltek.
  • Organize, clean, and maintain work and storage areas in shop and warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Store, label, and maintain supplies, tools, and equipment in storage areas in an orderly and accessible manner.
  • Assists with the supply chain management in warehouse operations and inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Examine and inspect parts, tools, or supplies for wear or damage, and notify supervisor for disposal or return to vendor.
  • Keep shop and warehouse areas neat, clean, and clutter-free.
  • General routine facilities maintenance and upkeep activities.
In addition to these duties, the post holder may be required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required, from time to time, to achieve the above role purpose.

 
Authority, Accountability and Working Relationships:

This role is responsible and accountable to:
·         Procurement Specialist
 
Required to forge effective working relationships with but not limited to:
·         Field Personnel
·         Client Support Engineers
·         Project Engineers
 
 

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

About you

Education and Experience:
Essential:
  • High School Diploma
  • Fork-Lift certification (with minimum of 1 year experience)
  • Associates degree or other college education
 
Key Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Essential:
  • Basic working knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in inventory control.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to keep and maintain accurate records, with good penmanship.
  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize, and organize work duties accordingly.
  • Effective communication skills - written and oral.
  • Able to effectively engage in multiple projects at one time.
  • Able and willing to work independently or in a team environment; with ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people including accounting, engineering, manufacturing and marine operations staff. 
·         Strong attention to detail.  
 

Desirable:
·         2+ years prior experience in warehouse operations.
