Test Lab Technician

The Test Lab Technician is responsible for testing all hydraulic components required by Franklin Electric, including but not limited to vertical turbine lineshaft pumps, submersible turbine pumps, horizontal split case pumps, and fully integrated packaged systems. This role encompasses scheduling, setup, testing, reporting, and teardown responsibilities. The Test Lab Technician will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager and collaborate cross-functionally with all Franklin Electric groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Review performance test results to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain professional performance reports.
- Assemble and disassemble pump units into testable configurations using available test fixtures, hand tools, and overhead cranes.
- Connect pumps to electrical power systems, including medium voltage (2300V & 4160V).
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
- Repair and maintain test fixtures and other equipment as necessary.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Skills and Abilities:
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to prioritize tasks from various sources.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Two years of relevant experience in pump manufacturing and/or assembly (preferred).
- Four-year technical degree in a related field (preferred).
Computer Skills
- Interest and ability to learn new systems.
- Basic: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
Certificates and Licenses
- Completes any required safety classes related to applicable OSHA guidelines.

- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit.
