Full Time £53,000 - £58,000 / yearJob Overview
Are you ready to step into a role where clinical expertise meets leadership? At Penrose Health, we’re looking for a confident and inspiring Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy services. This isn’t just about prescriptions - it’s about driving safe, evidence-based care, mentoring a talented team, and making a real impact on patient outcomes. You’ll be the go-to clinical expert, guiding best practice in medicines management, auditing prescribing quality, and supporting colleagues to deliver exceptional care. If you love problem-solving, thrive under pressure, and believe in better communication with patients, this is your chance to shine. Join us and help build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and clinical excellence - because great healthcare starts with great leadership.
You’ll be doing things like:
- Leading clinical pharmacy services - setting the standard for safe, evidence-based prescribing.
- Conducting Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs) - optimising medicines for patients with long-term conditions.
- Prescribing and deprescribing confidently - ensuring treatments align with best practice and patient needs.
- Providing expert advice - supporting GPs, nurses, and the wider team with complex medication queries.
- Managing post-discharge reviews - ensuring seamless transitions and safe medication changes.
- Mentoring and supervising pharmacy staff - building capability and confidence across the team.
- Auditing and improving prescribing quality - driving medicines optimisation and governance.
- Leading quality improvement projects - promoting adherence to NICE guidance and local formulary.
- Collaborating across practices and PCNs - working with clinicians to achieve prescribing targets.
- Championing better communication with patients - making sure they understand and trust their treatment plans.
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Love solving complex clinical problems - and enjoy being the go-to expert for medicines advice.
- Communicate with confidence and clarity - whether it’s mentoring colleagues or reassuring patients.
- Stay calm under pressure - and keep accuracy at the heart of everything you do.
- Enjoy supporting others - helping pharmacists and technicians grow through guidance and supervision.
- Have an eye for quality improvement - audits, governance, and best practice excite you.
- Believe in better patient communication - because understanding treatment is just as important as prescribing it.
- Are detail-driven and organised - managing priorities without breaking a sweat.
- Inspire team morale - bringing positivity and confidence to the pharmacy team.
